Julie A. Drainville
CFP®, ChFC®, EA, Wealth Advisor
Julie A. Drainville, CFP®, ChFC®, EA, came to financial services as a result of life experiences that impressed upon her the importance of solid financial advice and personalized planning. Her fiduciary approach to wealth management is intentionally through an integrated planning and tax lens, considering how each choice may affect long-term wealth, liquidity, and legacy while balancing individual and family priorities. This is a relationship business. Retirement may last 20 to 30 years and your assets could outlive you. Along the way, thoughtful planning helps clients live in the moment and have assurance for the future.
Julie serves a diverse clientele, actively listening and empowering clients to make informed decisions with confidence. Clients appreciate the transparency of our process and fees along with the breadth of our integrated team, which includes CPAs along with tax and estate attorneys. Today, there are countless ways to get answers to individual financial questions, but a trusted advisor relationship offers empathy, unique training, and perspective to plan for what matters most to you.
As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®), and Enrolled Agent (EA), she understands investment performance matters—but ultimately, how much of your assets you retain after tax over your lifetime and how effectively those assets can support future generations is where we distinguish ourselves.
Early in life, the impact in a lack of insurance planning was first recognized with the disability and passing of her father, who was in his late thirties and early forties. Estate and tax planning came into focus as she observed her grandmother, a business owner and widow, plan for her retirement and the next generation through tax-sensitive estate planning. Working with high-net-worth individuals and families trading fine, rare, and collectible wine, she witnessed firsthand how growing and maintaining generational wealth goes beyond sound investing. Seeking more impactful work, Julie ultimately changed careers after 20 years in the wine and housewares industries. The decision was influenced in part by her mother’s unexpected retirement due to illness at age 60 and assisting her with the financial realities of navigating life with a long-term partner, who also had children.
Julie is actively involved in advancing the financial planning profession. She serves on the board of the Rhode Island chapter of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) as President-Elect, co-leads the organization’s Womens+ Initiative, and mentors emerging CFP® professionals.
Julie earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Southern New Hampshire University, where she received the Distinguished Scholar Award. Outside of work, she describes herself as ‘solar powered’. She enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, golfing, snowboarding, traveling, and seeking out new experiences. She is a naturally curious person and avid learner who enjoys exploring different cultures, perspectives, and ideas. Julie also takes great joy in her role as an aunt. Her longstanding passion for food and wine remains, particularly when shared with family and friends.
